Looking forward to being part of Belper Arts Trail. This is my third year but at a new venue on Green Lane – Creartii. The town is always buzzing for this event with lots of great art and events. Had a quick practice run on my kitchen table this morning and think I am all set for tomorrow and Monday.
This original watercolour of Windermere and Langdale Pikes is on its way to a lovely customer in the US. Her boyfriend (now husband) proposed to her here and she commisioned a painting from me.
. How lucky were they with the weather, to say it is the Lake District! It is now winging its way to North Carolina.
People This portrait is now winging its way to Barnados. Inspired by the recently released archive of some of the original ‘Barnados Boys’. I loved the solemness of his expression – not surprising in the circumstances. I felt it only right to donate it to Barnados to do with what they will. When I paint portraits, I want to know and tell the story, so this one was particularly poignant.
I have realised that I need to put more work into this website. I am sure that the more I do, the easier it will become! So, what have I been up to? Well, I have painted another monochrome portrait, this time inspired by the recently established Barnados archive of photographs. I am donating it to Barnados to do with whatever they wish.
